Handle & tail plait info

Handle lacing per your request, if you have something special you want we can talk about it when you call to customize your bull rope
Handle widths are mostly based on your glove size, 3/4" for a small size such as a 6 or 7 riding glove.  7/8" wide handle is usually recommended a size 8 up to 10 and a 1" wide handle would be for a big hand using a 10 1/2 and up glove size.  That's just recommendations, not set in stone, I'll build your handle the width you want.
9 plait is the most uniform and will be the hardest smoothest most best braid
7 plait braided like the 9 will have a medium feel with some stretch to it and is harder to braid tight
5 plait is the most coarse braid and can be braided soft and even at any width from 3/4" all the way up to 2" and mushy enough you can stick your fingers through the braids, your choice on how soft or mushy you want this braided
Most popular combo I get asked for is the 9 X 7 with the tail matching the handle width or an 1/8" wider followed by the 9 X 5 mushy tail averaging 1 1/4" to 2"wide and braided out mushy.  one warning on that mushy tail is you run a bigger risk of hanging a spur in the tail, just something to consider.
I prefer to build all my bull rope handles with a 9 plait but some of the junior ropes can be ordered with a 7 plait handle, keep in mind if your asking for a hard handle it'll be a 9 plait with dura cord or cable in the handle, your choice. your handle will last much longer braided hard N tight with at least the Dura cord added

3 finger snug slack = about 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" rise - 1 1/2" is a really tight handle
3 finger slack= 2" to 2 1/4"
3 1/2 finger slack = right at 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" rise
4 finger slack = will be around 3" to 3 1/2" rise
keep in mind these measurments are based on my hand size, for reference purposes measuring across my fingers comes out to 3 1/8" which I consider a 4 finger snug handle slack with 3 1/2" rise giving you 4 finger slack
